Senus, a global leader in environmental technology, in partnership with French company Polyor SAS, announces the launch of its new AI-powered NMP (Nutrient Management Planning) technology. This revolutionary solution is designed to transform nutrient management for farmers and agronomists, delivering significant cost savings while driving meaningful environmental impact.
Revolutionising AI-Powered NMP Technology
The AI-powered NMP technology generates semi-automated NMPs, allowing farmers to reduce fertiliser usage, and potentially lower the carbon footprint of field crop production across Europe by up to 20%. Combining Senus’s expertise in environmental measurement with Polyor’s advanced AgroNum algorithm, this partnership enables a smarter, more sustainable approach to nutrient management, saving time and resources while reducing emissions.
Polyor SAS, an R&D unit based in Nancy, France, specialises in fertiliser management and sustainable agriculture. Their AgroNum algorithm provides precise, plot-specific N-fertiliser recommendations via the patented AI model. AgroNum conserves and accumulates soil organic carbon (SOC) over time by setting sustainable target yields with a unique N-fertiliser response curve. This technology ensures crop residues contain enough nitrogen to humify into stable organic matter, enhancing long-term soil health.

Addressing Agriculture’s contributors to the Climate Crisis
The production of synthetic fertilisers using fossil fuel energy is one of agriculture’s largest contributors to the climate crisis. Each year, Europe consumes approximately 10 million tonnes of synthetic fertilisers, with over half applied to wheat and other cereal crops. The NMP technology directly addresses this challenge, reducing dependency on synthetic fertilisers without compromising yields, all the while conserving soil carbon.
Building a More Sustainable Future for Agriculture
The launch of the AI-powered NMP technology marks a significant step forward in Senus’s mission to build scalable climate-tech that balances agricultural productivity with environmental responsibility.
The AI-powered NMP’s advanced capabilities, ensures that it meets the evolving needs of farmers and agronomists. By automating cropping NMPs, reducing reliance on synthetic fertilisers and promoting healthier soils, Senus and Polyor are contributing to a more sustainable and resilient agricultural future.
