
Data Privacy Notice – Senus / Bank of Ireland Pilot Programme Effective Date: 01/07/2025
This Privacy Notice is provided in accordance with Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”). It explains how your personal data will be processed in relation to your participation in the pilot programme involving Senus and Bank of Ireland (BOI)
Senus Ltd. is acting as a Data Processor on behalf of BOI.
Bord Bia is an independent Data Controller for any data it provides under this programme.
1. Purpose of the Data Processing
Your data is processed for the sole purpose of conducting a pilot programme aimed at analyzing and generating aggregated carbon footprint and emissions reports for agricultural enterprises.
2. Legal Basis for Processing
Processing of your data is based on your freely given consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time without any adverse consequences.
3. Categories of Personal Data Processed
Carbon Footprint and Total Emissions data (provided by Bord Bia)
Data relating to your primary agricultural enterprise (only if you are a member of both SBLAS and SDAS)
No personally identifiable information is collected or shared in report outputs.
4. Data Recipients and Access
BOI will receive only aggregated and anonymised reports. No individual-level or identifiable data will be shared.
Senus will have access to data solely for the purpose of facilitating the pilot and will not use it for any other purpose.
5. Data Transfers
No transfers of your personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) will occur as part of this programme.
6. Data Retention
Your personal data will be securely stored by Senus during the pilot programme.
Upon completion of the pilot, all personal data will be permanently deleted from the Senus platform.
Senus is hosted on ISO-accredited infrastructure with regular privacy audits and backup procedures.
7. Your Data Protection Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to processing
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie)

8. Voluntary Participation and Consequences
Participation in the pilot is entirely voluntary. There are no consequences regarding your credit rating, current lending arrangements, or future applications with BOI if you choose not to participate or withdraw consent. BOI and Senus will not use this data for marketing, lending, or any other unrelated purpose.
9. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
No automated decision-making or profiling will be conducted using your personal data.
